About Us

Richard O. Hastie was Tracy’s first elected mayor and a visionary leader who played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tracy (BGCT). His dedication not only led to the creation of the organization but also to the construction of the Richard O. Hastie Clubhouse, a lasting legacy of his commitment to the community.

On May 25, 1989, BGCT officially opened its doors, welcoming local youth into a safe and supportive environment. Since then, the organization has positively impacted the lives of tens of thousands of young people, growing beyond its original location to serve the entire Tracy community as well as the Escalon area.

Today, BGCT remains a cornerstone of the community, providing essential programs and services to approximately 5,700 youth annually. The club offers a structured, engaging, and secure environment where young people can learn, grow, and thrive after school, during holidays, and throughout seasonal breaks.

As part of a nationwide network, BGCT is one of many Boys & Girls Clubs dedicated to empowering young people across the country and beyond. With locations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and on U.S. military installations worldwide, Boys & Girls Clubs provides proven programs that inspire and support millions of youth every day.
